Transgression keeps a dictionary definition on SoundCloud where most artists keep a biography: "a breach of a law, a duty, a rule", with the French pronunciation spelled out underneath. The Instagram bio files the music as electroclash, EBM and techno. A remix of The Dare's 'Girls' has been up on SoundCloud since 2025.
The EP is on A-TRACTION Records, which Marc Ayats has run since 2000. Agoria, Thomas Schumacher, David Carretta, Scan X and Traumer have all been on it, plus Vitalic under his Dima name. We have reviewed the label twice already, once for P-Ben and once for Erebos 101, who now shares the artistic direction with Ayats. Four tracks here, with Gelainheim and Vondkreistan on the remixes.
If you are anywhere near Lille, the release party is at Bazaar St So on 30 October 2026, with a Halloween night alongside the Sombrelectro collective the day after.
The EP opens with the mayhem of ‘React’, a pulverising EBM/techno track with a kick so insistent you can feel your solar plexus wincing every time it pounds through the soundscape. A classy little acid line underpins the track alongside the sort of bone-grinding synths that would see even Blaze shitting his leather trousers.
‘Deactivate’ marches in next with even more caustic synth work, if that was possible. Industrial, EBM, and techno combine into a towering wave of amalgamated sound. We absolutely love that staccato synth stuttering away throughout.
Vondkreistan gives ‘Deactivate’ a definite 90s feel thanks to those retrofuturistic keys. Wait for those claps to kick in though; a sonic tweak of the central nervous system indeed! The stabs give it away though and inject the track with unbridled rave energy.
Things get thick and gloopy for the final track in the quartet. Gelainheim slaps down a mean bassline for the remix that retains the industro-electrical feel of the original, but with added darkwave swagger. Spot the Speak ‘n’ Spell sample…
