Release card for Andrew Means 'Hip Gnosis' on a yellow background: the sleeve is a high contrast black and white photograph of an ornate arched doorway with intricate carved latticework, under a black header bar carrying the artist name and the VANTEK logo.

Artist: Andrew Means
Title: 'Hip Gnosis'
Label: VANTEK

Andrew Means gives his records titles that take a bit of unpicking. 'Octagonal Inheritance', 'Morning Glory Edifice', 'Three Point Blossom' and 'Psykometrik' are all his, and 'Tamara Sky' and 'faraway' sit alongside them.

This one keeps that up. 'Hip Gnosis' bends hypnosis into gnosis, the Greek for knowledge.

VANTEK has it, and the operation runs out of Vancouver. It is a label and a warehouse at the same time.

We keep ending up back there. Secret Raver's 'Cybermen' went out on VANTEK, which was Brooklyn techno landing on a Canadian imprint.

Fizch counts the VANTEK warehouse as close to a second home, and we said as much when 'Foundry Code' came through. Luis Miranda's 'Santa Paciencia' went out on the label too.

Out now. Beatport are carrying it, and the rest of him is on his artist page.
