The first record Touched Music ever put out was a compilation in December 2013, curated by Martin Boulton, with every artist giving their track away and every penny going to Macmillan Cancer Support. 808 State were on it. So were the Future Sound of London. And so were Funckarma, the duo Roel Funcken ran with his brother Don for thirteen years.

He has kept a foot in the door there since, with ‘Dear of the Yog’ going out on Touched in 2018. The rest of the story is in our premiere of ‘4ehmth’: the Autechre support slots, Funckarma’s years on Skam and Warp’s Arcola, and ‘Kine 3’, which is out now on Florida’s EC Underground and is where that track came from.

Away from the studio he paints, spray and acrylic pours mostly, and he works on the two side by side, so the odd title carries across from canvas to record. He takes the decks at number twenty three.
