Artist: Uit De Hoogte
Title: 'Get Down Wit' It E.P.'
Label: GLXY Recs
'Get Down Wit' It' is Uit De Hoogte's first record for GLXY Recs, and it has been a while coming. Black Cadmium, who runs the label, put it this way: “I'm proud to finally welcome him to the label. It took some time, but the moment is finally here.” The artist's own announcement reached for the same word: “really happy to finally share this one with you.”
Part of what makes it a first is that he mostly has his own places to put records. LANK is his, run from Ghent, and it carries two sublabels underneath it in KLANK and GANK. The 'Polos' EP and a split with Bonifaz both went out that way.
Hardware is the thread running through all of it. His first LANK record was sold as a set of hardware jams and pressed to a hundred copies, a free 'UNION EP' was described the same way, and the note on this one says it was built entirely with hardware too.
GLXY Recs sits in Rotterdam, and Black Cadmium also records as Joginda. We have been through the label twice already, once for Hive Mind and Black Cadmium's 'Emergence EP' and once for 'Open Channel'.
The EP moves between house, techno and breaks, which is roughly the spread his Instagram handle promises, given it has a 303 on the end of it.
