Artist: Lidvall
Title: The Things Aren’t Changing Like They Should
Label: Symbolism

Five tracks of techno, out now, and Lidvall’s second EP for Symbolism. His first for Ben Sims’ label was 2024’s Not Too Serious EP, which Sims summed up at the time as “Heavyweight stuff. These are the tracks I play when I want the crowd to go crazy.”

Lidvall has covered some ground getting here. He started out in Saint Petersburg in 2017, playing festivals including Gamma and Monasterio Factory, spent a spell in Tbilisi, and now works out of Oviedo in northern Spain. He runs his own SMUTA imprint, and has records on Mord, Soma, Edit Select, Nachtstrom Schallplatten, Faut Section and Mind Trip.

His Resident Advisor biography makes a point of the three channel mixing he favours, rebuilding tracks on the fly rather than playing them as pressed. The EP runs The Things Aren’t Changing Like They Should, AMPM, Wanna Be A Cosmonaut, La Esperanza and No Te Imaginas lo Viejismo Que Soy!.

Out now on Symbolism. Grab it from Bandcamp.
