Ignition Sequence hands one artist five records they are reaching for right now, and their own words on why each one earns a place in the bag. This time it is Shaun Moses, who works out of Goa and whose 'Nostalgia' took our Single of the Week slot in August 2026. His five run from a Calibre drum and bass roller to a 2018 Patrick Siech record he still swears by, taking in Planet Rhythm and Portugal's N R B K on the way. Four of the five have Bandcamp links attached, and the fifth is explained when you get to it.

Anyway, commencing countdown…

Shaun Moses got started behind the decks at eighteen, playing his father's bar. He still works out of Goa, and the decade since has built a catalogue running through Octopus Recordings, Tronic, OFF Recordings, Alleanza, Hydrozoa and Shlomi Aber's Be As One.

Perc Trax is the newest name on that list, and we covered the record in question: 'Nostalgia' took our Single of the Week slot in August 2026. There is a second alias in play as well, plain Moses, opened in 2019 for the more industrial and leftfield material. That project drew playlist support from Charlotte de Witte, Enrico Sangiuliano, Paul Ritch and Amotik.

Then there is MO/SS, the live act he runs with Sanil Sudan, who records as FiLM. Detroit techno and electro are the starting point, dub technique and machine funk run underneath it, and the pair work off analogue hardware and improvise rather than play to a fixed set. The live show debuted in 2026 at Halcyon Beach Club in Hội An, on the SubViệt Sound System, the only Vietnam date on an Asia tour.

The touring has gone through Gently Altered at home and across Europe from 2017 onward, taking in Germany, Sweden, Austria, Serbia, Malta, Portugal and France. Mixmag's The Lab Goa had him at Salud in Vagator, and he played OFF GRID Festival up in Himachal Pradesh in 2022. 2023 saw him playing Boiler Room x Hardline.

Asked where his material comes from, he has said he does not really follow other producers. The raw ingredients are the weekend itself, the beach and the people around him, carried back into the studio afterwards. You can keep up with him on SoundCloud and Instagram. Here are his five.

Shaun Moses: "This is my latest release on the infamous Perc Trax and it's a track I've been closing most of my sets with for the last few months mainly because of its nostalgic, euphoric vibe. I intentionally wanted to create a tune for that kind of a moment and I couldn't be happier with the final result. A massive shout out to the legend Perc as well for giving me a great platform to put it out."

The newest record in the five. 'Twister Madness' sits on the 'Catch Me If You Can EP', out since 5 June 2026 on N R B K, the Portuguese label. Perfo is Thibaud Guillemin, who wrote, mixed and produced the whole EP himself.

Shaun Moses: "This track is nothing short of a weapon that I've been opening most of my sets with recently. The siren stabs and low end in this track are the main characters and give this track a powerful and raw personality that I love."

The one that steps outside techno entirely. Calibre is Dominick Martin of Belfast, a name that has been shaping liquid drum and bass since the late nineties, and 'Leave' comes off 'Shelflife 5', self released through his own Signature Recordings in June 2018.

Shaun Moses: "I've been playing a lot of DnB lately and this is the perfect tune to drop midway during a set to throw in some sudden variation. The well tuned drums, jazzy hook & vocal stab are the standouts and throw a fresh and ecstatic vibe on the floor which is perfect when you wanna do a quick vibe change to reset things."

Filed on Bandcamp as 'Patience (Digital Bonustrack)', and it closes the 'Junction EP', out on 31 July 2026 as the opening release for Planet Rhythm's Black Series. Yrsen works out of Lille, and the EP runs to eight tracks before this one is added on top.

Shaun Moses: "Two of my favourite producers at the moment and this is a tune that never fails to work every time I drop it. Intelligent Break beat programming, tight low end, trippy lead and a simple arrangement straight to the point just the way I like my tracks."

The oldest of the five and the only one without a Bandcamp page, so the player above comes from Patrick Siech's own SoundCloud. 'Sektor 214' is off the 'Our Exile' EP, catalogue PRBL012, out in June 2018 on Parabel. Siech is Swedish, based in Malmö. Most recently, he has released on Parabel, as with this pick.

Shaun Moses: "A bomb from 2018 by an amazing Swedish producer that sounds so fresh and powerful till date. The bass and hook give this track a deep & super trippy feel that sticks in your head and consumes you as the track goes on. This is a clear example of intelligent production using the call & response technique so well & a well balanced mixdown."
