Artist: I. JORDAN & Tom Everett
Title: 'All I Ever'
Label: Ninja Tune
I. JORDAN is three singles into a deal with Ninja Tune, and this is the middle one. 'Give Me Some More' came first. 'All I Ever' is the first thing they have made with Tom Everett, and both of them say it came together in a single session.
I.JORDAN: ‘I’ve been a fan of Tom Everett for years, and I’m very proud of this track as our first-ever collaboration. It felt very seamless! I think the track is a balance of happy/sad euphoria that gets me in my feels, especially that big emotional breakdown.’
Tom Everett: "When Jordan and I met early this year, we both had high hopes that we'd get at least something out of our session, but I didn't expect to go home with pretty much a complete and structured idea. Jordan's an expert in what works on a dancefloor, so it was a bit of a masterclass watching them add to and work with this rough idea I had to make it work in a club."
I. JORDAN was born in Doncaster and works out of London. Their debut album 'I AM JORDAN' landed on BBC 6Music's Albums of the Year list in 2024. Before Ninja Tune they put records through Armada Music and Peach Discs, the Bristol label Shanti Celeste started in 2016 to put out music by people she knew.
Everett is the newer name of the two. He learned the production end of it studying in Leeds and playing the clubs there, and his first single 'Patti' went out on 3Beat. BBC Introducing picked that one up, and Annie Mac made it a New Name on Radio 1's Future Sounds. He is based in South London now.
Ninja Tune turned up here only last week, behind Anish Kumar, DJ GTi and Sofia Kourtesis' 'Radio Nacional', where both Kumar and Kourtesis had passed through the label's Technicolour imprint on the way.
Out now. Ninja Tune is where to get it.
