Release card for Hooraa '920 Degrees' on a pale stone background: the sleeve is black, with a sculpted head tilted back and rendered in fine cream wireframe mesh, hair streaming off into loose contour lines, and the title set top left in white capitals.

Artist: Hooraa
Title: '920 Degrees'
Label: Equation Recordings

Hooraa came to electronic music late. He grew up on rock and hip hop, and none of it reached him until he was home from a military deployment in 2010. He started DJing in 2014. Producing techno came in 2019.

920 is the telephone area code for Appleton, Wisconsin, and Appleton is where he lives and works.

Equation Recordings has the record and runs out of Chicago. Angelo Rizzo and Mark Beltrami both have records on it. Jerome Baker keeps a run of 'Descendants Of A Lost Tribe' volumes going there on top of that.

Hooraa is not new to the label either. The 'Ruthless Ravers EP' went out on Equation Recordings before this one.

The rest of his catalogue is spread across a lot of imprints. UKR Special Series, Electronic Union Records, Mastoid Kollective, miniTek Records, Mind Burn Recordings and Filth Infatuated Digital have all carried his name.

Chicago Jaxxx has had him as well, which is Josh Moseley's label and the one we wrote up Andrei Morant's 'Mr Mischief' for not long ago. Two Chicago labels on one CV, and he is working out of Wisconsin.

Out now. Beatport are carrying it, and there is plenty more of him on Traxsource.
