Artist: Dave Clarke
Title: 'Wisdom to the Wise' (Joris Voorn Remix)
Label: Spectrum
Joris Voorn has given his own label its hundredth record, and he has used a Dave Clarke track from 1994 to do it. 'Wisdom to the Wise' came out as part of the Red Series, the run of EPs that made Clarke's name, and Spectrum has numbered this one SPCTRM100.
Clarke is the one John Peel called the Baron of Techno, and the name stuck for thirty years. Deconstruction put out his debut album 'Archive One' in 1996, and he currently has it up for pre-order again on his own site. He has also presented White Noise, a techno and electro radio show, for long enough that it is syndicated across FM stations worldwide.
Voorn runs three labels: Rejected, Green and Spectrum. He has been remixing other people's records for two decades, and the list is not a techno-exclusive list, either. Underworld, Röyksopp, Dua Lipa and Vintage Culture have all had a remix from him.
The vinyl pressing follows the digital, and it pairs the remix with a remaster of the 1994 original.
We have had the harder end of the techno sound through WT plenty, most recently with Acerbic's 'Doom Circuit EP' for Perc Trax.
Out now. Beatport have the digital, and the wax is on its way.
