ASSAILANTS is Ben Sims and Truncate, and The Art of Rolling is only their second EP in the seven years the project has been running. Four techno tracks, out on their own Obscurity Is Infinite imprint, vinyl and digital out now.

The pair started touring together in March 2018 and opened the account with a Berghain booking, then put out Chase Sequences, the EP that launched the label. Ben Klock and Robert Hood were among the DJs backing that first one. Sims works out of London, where he also runs Hardgroove and Symbolism, while Truncate is based in Los Angeles.

There is a thread between the two records worth flagging. Every track on Chase Sequences was called Effort, numbered 8, 3, 1 and 7. The Art of Rolling signs off with Effort 12, so the run is still going. The other three here are The Roller, Fracture 1 and Fracture 2.
