A first, this one. GUMGO has never recorded a mix at 140 before, and it lands here.

GUMGO took the scenic route to this. Philosophy and art history first, then five years in tech, and only then a proper commitment to records. She played her first set in Singapore in 2024 and has spent the time since digging through shops wherever the diary sends her, which turns out to be very nearly everywhere.

The name came from her mates rather than a branding session. GUMGO told us: “GUMGO is a shortened version of ‘a black cat’ in Korean, and it is a nickname from my closest friends in Seoul.”

Korean by birth, Barcelona-based by choice. Faust in Seoul is one of the rooms she plays, and longer-serving Transmitees will recognise that club as the place Gezibe, who took Waveform Sessions #14, first played out.

The rest of the diary runs through Headquarters, Rasa and Santai in Singapore, Output in Busan, Bar Temp in Bangkok, Noise in Chiang Mai, Hope Records in Bali, and Studio Stereo back in her adopted city.

Radio has taken her to Seoul Community Radio, Bangkok Community Radio, Headstream and Toha Radio, plus Oslated’s Special Mix series at 097, and Mixmag Asia stuck her on its Artists Exciting Us In 2026 list. Minimal and electro are where she lives, and a record bag is how she got here. So two departures at once on this one: her first outing at 140, and played out on CDJs rather than wax.
