Cover art for Target Demographic’s ‘Physical / More House’ EP on Dog With A Bone: a teal and black vinyl centre label with a cartoon dog and a graffiti style logo at the top, the artist name and both track titles in bold capitals, and small print curving around the rim.

Target Demographic’s Bandcamp biography is four words long: “Music for dancing. Enjoy”. Behind it is a long run of self-released records, albums and one-off tracks both. He works out of Los Angeles, and the only release of his we could find away from his own page is a cut on ‘Blessings Vol 1’ for God Gives Records in 2024.

Dog With A Bone is the sub-label theBasement Discos runs for records built in the 90s house mould. This is Target Demographic’s first for it. The parent label has been dealing house out of Valencia since 2012, and we had Loddj and Davide Messina’s ‘KIDS & GROOVE’ from it in September 2026. Two tracks here, filed by the label under house, garage house and disco.

We’re on a housey-garage tip here with Target Demographic. Track A1, ‘Physical’, steps into late night territory, opening with sultry house key stabs, staccato vocal samples asking “can you dig it?” and repeating the ‘physical’ motif for a jitty little injection of basement swagger.

‘More House’ turns the energy up a touch, with a lovely little breakdown introducing the track at the thirty second mark. Those upper register percussive elements are what drive the garage feel here, and the bumpy bassline at the bottom end pulls in the house vibes alongside some more silky keys and the odd starburst twinkle.
