‘MazanA’ is a joint record, _studio416 and Sender Berlin together across four tracks, and it is the first thing Sender Berlin have put their name to since 2012. ‘The Morning’ is the exception on it. That one is _studio416 on their own, and it is the one we have for premiere right here.

_studio416 is Sven Elmlund and Hendrik Vaak’s own studio collective, and both of them are in Sender Berlin as well, which is how the two names ended up on one record. It is also where the idea of restarting the project came from. The room sits out in Marzahn, on the eastern edge of the city, among the concrete blocks that went up there in the seventies and eighties.

Sender Berlin’s last record went out on Snork Enterprises in 2012, and this one goes out on Snork Enterprises as well. Fourteen years in between, same label waiting at the other end.

Our premiere ‘The Morning’ actually closes the record out, with a vocal from Maria Pietranera. ‘MazanA’ is Snork 131, digital on 4 September with vinyl to follow, and remixes from Truncate, Nerk, Syntax Error and Lyoma are already lined up behind it.

Listen to our exclusive world premiere above. As usual, you heard it here first. ‘MazanA’ follows on 4 September.
