Twelve weeks was the target. When Richard Seeley launched the Seeza Project in October 2023, the plan was a release roughly every twelve weeks on his own Glue Music, each one pulling in a different direction from the last. Seeza Project No. 4 arrives now, and Do You Want Acid? is our premiere from it.
The back catalogue underneath that is substantial. Mas Profundo went out on Radio Slave's Rek'd and topped his Sex Mania at the Berghain chart. Juicy Vermin was the first record Tim Sheridan ever put out on Very Very Very Wrong Indeed, and Ellen Allien rated it enough to pull it into her Boogey Bytes mix.
Glue Music opened its own account with Black Room and a Bruno Pronsato remix, then went on to host Terry Francis, Eddie Richards, Pheek and Public Lover, with Andreas Georgiades' Rude Bishop taking a 4/5 from Resident Advisor. The first Seeza instalment picked up support from Robag Wruhme, Joris Voorn, Steve Lawler and Renaat Vandepapeliere.
There is a neat detail behind the label name, too. Seeley records field recordings in the studio, then plays them back through a mic into the session so they sit underneath the track as connective atmosphere. Glue, in other words.
With that in mind, it is entirely plausible that the trippy, stuttering vocal chatter that permeates through the mix is one such field recording. But, we mean, who knows which of these sounds are field recordings.
And does it actually matter? The end result is a fucking superb example of gritty acid house with a nostalgic warehouse rave flex. Dark, sweaty, two pills in, then someone pulls the 303 out. You know the score. Get on it above.
