This issue of Ignition Sequence is brought to you in partnership with BC Releases: New Bandcamp Releases in One Playlist
Ignition Sequence runs the same way every time. We hand a guest artist the countdown, they pick five records, and they tell you what every one of them is for. A fully artist-curated feature bringing you closer to the underground artists you love.
Reset Robot took issue ten. Rodriguez Jr. and O'Flynn are in his five, there is a Tal Fussman record off Innervisions in there too, and the track at number one has his own name on it.
Anyway, commencing countdown…
Ignition Sequence #10: Reset Robot…

Reset Robot is Dave Robertson, and his way in was emphatic. Dubfire's Sci+Tec took six of his tracks at once in 2009. He had served time behind a record shop counter before that, and two clubs did the shaping, fabric and Slinky, along with Sasha, Digweed and the Wiggle crew.
Five labels give you the range. Drumcode, Poker Flat, Hotflush, Ovum and Anjunadeep have all put his records out. He works out of Portsmouth.
Whistleblower Records is the one he has a hand in, set up with Aaron Binstead and Alan Fitzpatrick. The three of them have been friends since school.
The partnership that has taken over lately is with Jon Gurd. They have a label, Echo Forms, and it has released nothing but their records, at close to one a month through 2026. Gurd was a resident at Slinky, which is one of the two clubs Robertson names as formative.
'Simple' is the newest one, two tracks, out on Last Night On Earth since 16 October 2026. That is Sasha's label, and not a first visit, because 'Meltwater' went out there as well.
He is on Instagram, with the records on SoundCloud and Bandcamp.
Here are Reset Robot's five. Enjoy!
BC Releases: New Bandcamp Releases in One Playlist

All of your new releases in one place.
Bandcamp sends an email for every new release from the artists and labels you follow, which can be overwhelming…
Bas Dobbelaer built a free web app that pulls those new releases into a single playlist. You can listen through everything that came out without opening one email or tab at a time. Waveforms, BPM, and key are included for every track as well.
Label what’s worth buying as you listen, and come back to your picks when you’re ready to support the artists.
Your data is saved in your browser: imports, triage choices and listening progress are all stored locally, so there’s no account needed.
Number 5: Tal Fussman 'Children Of 95'
Innervisions put this out in September 2023. Dixon and Âme run that label out of Berlin, and it is where Denis Horvat got the EP his own Vokabularium is named after. Tal Fussman grew up near Tel Aviv, works out of Berlin now, and runs Survival Tactics.
Reset Robot: "Absolutely love this track. Such a smooth builder. I love the way the break down is so minimal with the strings and the vocal then it just explodes with energy. Great for getting the floor going."
Innervisions have it on Beatport.
Number 4: Lee Van Dowski 'If Only Jack Was Here'
Lee Van Dowski is Renaud Lewandowski, and Luciano's Cadenza is where he made his name, across the best part of a decade. He is French, and he works out of Geneva, where he took a degree in music engineering. This one comes off the 'Quasar 27.3 EP', which Rebellion released in October 2015.
Reset Robot: "This is a very long track but it works so well. It has this nagging polyrhythmic sound that runs the whole way through which moves and pulses. Sounds huge on a big system, the kick and bass hit in just the right place!"
The EP is still up at Beatport.
Number 3: Rodriguez Jr. 'Pegasus'
Rodriguez Jr. is Olivier Mateu, and Mobilee is where most of his music lands. 'Pegasus' sits on 'Hydra', which the Berlin label released in December 2020. He builds the live show around the vintage synths in his Miami studio, and the remix list takes in Röyksopp, Booka Shade and Stephan Bodzin.
Reset Robot: "Deep, melodic at its very best. This gets me every time I listen to it. The way the bass notes glide into each other and acid that builds all the way through. This works so well on the dance floor. Absolute class!"
Clamp onto 'Hydra' at Beatport.
Number 2: O'Flynn x Frazer Ray 'Holsten'
'Holsten' was one of three singles that trailed 'Shimmer', the album O'Flynn and Frazer Ray made together for Technicolour, which is a Ninja Tune imprint. Frazer Ray used to record as Soundbwoy Killah. O'Flynn wrote 'Otomo' with Bonobo and then went out as main support on the 'Fragments' tour.
Reset Robot: "This is modern dance/electromica at its finest. Quite slamming drums and ravey vocal contrasted with emotional atmospheric synths and pads. I love the way it switches between 2 worlds! This for me is something I would use to take things a bit more peak time in a club setting."
Beatport has the single.
Number 1: Jon Gurd & Reset Robot 'Bridge'
Top of his list is a record with his own name on it. Echo Forms released 'Bridge' in April 2026, one of the run Jon Gurd and Reset Robot have kept up at close to a record a month. Gurd came up through the UK underground in the early 2000s, warming up for Paul van Dyk and Armin van Buuren at Slinky. He stopped producing in 2013 and did not start again until 2016, and Anjunadeep signed him off the back of what came next.
Reset Robot: "Ravey, nostalgic goodness from myself and Jon Gurd. With this track we wanted to create something that felt very nostalgic but that retained a more modern sound. This definitely gets those hands in the air! Reach for the lasers!"
Get your drop at Beatport.
That's the five
Thanks to Reset Robot for the five, and for putting his own record at the top without dressing it up as anything other than what it is.
