Amsterdam-born Orlando Voorn is one of the true pioneers of European techno; a producer whose multi-alias discography stretches back to the mid-eighties and whose early work on KMS and Fragile helped forge one of the first genuine creative bridges between Amsterdam and Detroit. He now makes his debut on DJ Godfather's Data Bass imprint with the Detroit is the Name EP.
Godfather needs little introduction as one of the architects of Detroit's ghetto tech scene; co-founder of Twilight 76 Records and its Databass sublabel, his fingerprints are all over the genre's journey from the city's streets to dancefloors worldwide. He contributes a remix of the title track.
Godfather’s production techniques should need no introduction to you. His gritty, 313-soaked brand of electro and ghetto-tech giving his re-rub a real Detroit edge, as he toughens up the track, injecting some of that Motor City swagger straight from the mind of one of its most prolific producers.
