This week's First Contact exclusive world premiere comes from producer Klanckman; the alias under which JØNAS relaunched his creative output in late 2024 alongside his own Klanck Records imprint.
Three EPs into that chapter, Commencing, Resilient, and Shedding Skin, he now steps outside his own label for a change of scenery with Basik, his debut on the Belgian Arkham XXX label, dropping May 12th 2026.
We’re premiering the title track leads the EP, which also features four original cuts alongside re-rubs from CYRK, Perc, HR-101, and Collapse-4000; a seriously well-respected selection of names to have on board.
Basik is an exhilarating composition from the off; synth stabs build with distorted intensity alongside bludgeoning kicks, before top-end percussion enters the fray and immediately floods the track with an irresistible groove. The kind we've come to expect from Cric Du Coer's Arkham Audio stable and its XXX offshoot.
Following a whiplash-inducing break that boasts one of the most electrifying drops we've heard in recent memory, we're catapulted into a swirling mass of funky percussion and deeply breathing pads. Sterling stuff. The track plays out with a feverish energy; definitely one to crank the sweat factor up in the room.
