KEIN NAME traces the whole thing back to being about twelve, watching his stepfather practise DJ sets at home. House first, then producing, and the first beats he made were knocked together on an iPhone before he went anywhere near a proper setup. Techno is where he landed and has stayed.

Hardgroove specifically, and the early 2000s reading of it rather than the version currently doing the rounds. He points at David Moleon, Steve Redhead, Lars Klein, Umek, Glenn Wilson and Eric Sneo as the names that got him there, which is a decent set of directions to be following.

He built Unsync Records so he could put records out on his own terms, and ‘Respiratory’ is catalogue number eight. KEIN NAME lives with a physical disability and says plainly that it has never stopped him doing any of this, or anything else.

One track, and that track is the record. It is out on 11 September 2026 and the pre-order is already up. Honestly, we were delighted when KEIN NAME reached out to us and we first heard this fantastic hardgroove-style techno thundering out of the speakers; just our cup of tea. We reckon you’ll love this too.

Listen to our exclusive world premiere above. ‘Respiratory’ lands on 11 September 2026 and you can get in early on Bandcamp.
