Intercept Records has quietly built a reputation as one of Berlin's most consistently interesting imprints, and Kat Davids is a fine example of why.

The Berlin-based producer, DJ, and THF Radio host has previously landed on Tresor with her Haunted single, as well as contributing to the celebrated Kotti Island Disc compilation on the same label. Winterswell marks her debut vinyl EP and her return to Intercept, the imprint that released her earlier Dust single.

Baby I Know What You Want straddles the deep and dub techno terrains with equal fervour. Booming 4/4 kicks and a heaving bass dominate the lower frequencies, while emphatic tribal percussion lifts the track into irresistibly danceable territory.

It is Kat's own spoken word vocal, however, that elevates the production into something altogether more distinctive. Woven through a fabric of digital droplets and codified chirps, her voice bestows an organic, almost ritualistic quality upon the track; a bewitching incantation perfectly suited to its title.
