Born Giovanni Tonutti and proud of his Italian roots, Argentinian producer GEØVHÄN is a multi-instrumentalist whose path through DJing and production has been shaped by a deep relationship with organic textures and ancestral rhythms.
His catalogue spans releases on Sol Selectas, Days Like Nights, Sudam Music, Akbal Music, and Suprematic, and his work has found support from Nick Warren, Hernan Cattaneo, Lost Desert, and Musumeci among others.
Equilibrium marks his return to Nick Warren and Petra Niiranen's The Soundgarden imprint, a label with a consistent track record of championing melodic, emotionally driven electronic music.
The a-side is governed by the low-slung, acid-tinged Harmonia. An infectious silver box synth line runs throughout while lilting glass bell samples chime amidst lush, granular pads and ethereal whispers.
Over on the flip, Khaos takes things into considerably darker territory; a brooding progressive house number whose futuristic disposition is shaped by stuttering vocal interludes, sweeping synths, and some wonderfully sci-fi zaps that pierce through the mix like shots from a plasma rifle.
