General Jimmy is Jimmy Coultas, and in Liverpool he has covered most of the bases: DJ, promoter and dance music writer, with bylines in DJ Mag, iDJ and DMC World and a spell as editor at Skiddle. In 2003 he started Superfly, bringing The Freestylers, Serge Santiago and Koma & Bones to Zanzibar, and he has since shared bills with Dixon, Erol Alkan, Ivan Smagghe, Gilles Peterson and Norman Jay.

These days he is a resident at the Y2K Collective. It started in 2025 as a reunion for people who were out in Liverpool around the turn of the millennium, and has grown into bringing the DJs from that era back to the city. Stanton Warriors played for them in summer 2026.
