Legendary producer Matthew Herbert steps up to the plate for our First Contact exclusive premiere, delivering a brilliantly eccentric take on Renwartherger’s Random.

Originally surfaced on the production duo's 2025 Faint Residue EP, the source material leaned heavily into a jazz-flecked, funk-driven aesthetic. Herbert completely reconfigures that DNA, sculpting an altogether housier sway that feels equally as unhinged as the original.

Retaining the experimental, leftfield ethos of the source material, this Jimmi Dub variation strips the track back to a minimal, more rigid rhythm. It is a masterful reshape that perfectly sets a quirky, late-night tone for the rest of the remix package to follow.

Our exclusive premiere leads the charge for the upcoming Renwartherger Remixed EP on Bulletdodge Records , officially dropping on April 17th. The track serves as the opening statement for a fantastic release, backed by further stellar reworks from Auntie Flo, Tribu Oro, Naum Gabo, and Phelan Kane.
