Vokabularium is the label that Croatian producer and DJ Denis Horvat built to house music that resists easy categorisation; a catalogue that includes his acclaimed debut album The Serve of the Abnormal, collaborative works with Lilli Ellen and Lelah, and the first instalment of the leksikon VA series in 2022, which brought together Colyn, Echonomist, and Rao.

leksikon vol. 2 arrives as the second chapter; another carefully curated cast of artists operating at the intersection of melodic house, techno, and the terrain between. A nice mix.

Thimble's Flexibility sets the bar high from the off; a solid 4/4 house beat and thumping bassline quickly give way to show-stealing synth stabs, a vein of rave nostalgia running unmistakably through the whole thing. A strong start.

Living up to its name, the kinetic Lunatico by Julian Koerndl is a certified club slayer. Everything about it screams absolute mayhem; loaded with acid, killer percussion, and enough siren-like synths to ensure the entire room goes fucking bananas. Beware the deadly breakdown before the final drop.

Ede, Nowa, and Samet Günal don't let up, sending saw waves flying across the soundstage in the equally blazing Break Tripp, which arrives in a Denis Horvat remix. Things take a more minimalist turn as Horvat reappears alongside Lilli Ellen for the vocal-laden Redeckt remix of Testamona; a welcome moment of restraint amid the chaos.

House is firmly the order of the day with Lucas Blumen and NonCitizens' Broken Trust; staccato synths arpeggiate wildly around energetic percussion, the euphoric energy building steadily as the track develops.

Mancuso's Take My Zip closes the collection; a melodic house excursion that draws the mood inward for an altogether darker finale.
