Elise Massoni’s L0N3R imprint debuts with Reference Point, a four-track EP that delivers techno with a deep, driving edge. It is a confident first release for the label, striking a fine balance between classic influences and modern production.
The EP sets the pace with Akir Stretching Legs. Built around a classic techno framework, the track uses a distorted piano progression to underpin the melody. The percussion is crisp and purposeful, providing exactly the kind of drive you want from a lead techno cut.
Moral Disorder shifts into darker territory with a distinct tribal influence. Leaning into that high-energy Hardgroove sound, it’s a track clearly designed for those mid-set transitions where the dancefloor needs a boost of physical energy.
Our standout from the release is Shedding Fate, which feels like a direct nod to the early 2000s. It’s reminiscent of the tracks Valentino Kanzyani used to champion on his Rock the Discotheque compilations, featuring a throbbing bassline that perfectly defines that decade's signature groove.
The title track, Reference Point, rounds things off by leaning into a deeper, more atmospheric space. With its echoing percussion and hypnotic synth loops, it provides a smooth, dubby resolution to a very impressive debut.
This is a strong statement of intent from L0N3R, and we’re already looking forward to what comes next. You can grab the full EP now over at Bandcamp.
