Artist: db-Maui
Title: 'From Below EP'
Label: Broque

db-Maui works out of Germany's Ruhrpott. Broque introduced him with the line "From Ruhrpott with Love!", and he has been a regular there since.

His run on the Munich label takes in 'Die Sterne Und Das Unicorn' and 'From PM To AM', which landed in April 2025. Before either of those, Modfair Recordings had his 'Anacrusis EP' out in 2023, and 'Selecta' sits there too.

Broque has been going since 2004, and it began life as a netlabel, "Das Netlabel für elektronische Musik" as the site still has it. The name is a contraction of BROtique ElectriQUE, and the roster grew out of a community called Oder auf Brot. Christian Kausch runs it, Heiko Schwanz handles mastering, and the records come on vinyl and CD as well as download.

The catalogue is past 160 releases now, with Alec Troniq, GranLab, Marie Wilhelmine Anders, k-paul and Chris Maico Schmidt among the names on it. 'From Below EP' is five tracks, a remix among them, and he designed the sleeve himself. It arrives directly after Emmanuel De La Paix's 'Chromaverse (and human structures)', which we reviewed on the site.

Out now. 'From Below EP' is up on Bandcamp, and the rest of the Broque catalogue sits alongside it.
