Amsterdam-based DANN is the kind of producer who quietly gets on with it; no fanfare, no fuss, just a stream of releases on his own Just On Time imprint that have been steadily building a devoted following in the Dutch underground. Can't_Quite_Understand is the latest offering.

The track is built around a distinct club flavour, drawing heavily on the prevalent UK sound that is currently doing the rounds. A solid four-four kick holds down the foundation while a grainy, rising piano refrain loops into the sound-space during the first quarter.

Following the first breakdown we're treated to the kind of bassline that literally everyone who hears it will describe enthusiastically as "disgusting" while they wind their neck appreciatively. The energy flows freely through to a final emphatic crescendo.
